just like mommy.

::sporting her new mommyblockers::

As if I don't put enough crazy things on this poor girls head. Bugga couldn't be more cooperative with me. I got my own little baby doll to dress up! It's too much fun. Good thing Laila loves to shop just like her mama. We are in trouble! Watch out world.

5 blissful months.

Oh the changes she has gone through in a matter of one month. Rolling over, eating solids, and almost sitting up on her own. She is the light in my day and the twinkle in my eye. Hap-Happy 5 month bug. Next month is big...you will be a half a year old!

got prunes?

This was the most disgusting thing I have had to feed bugga. The smell almost made me gag, but it looked like melted chocolate. Laila loved them and again we had success on a new fruit. Her poop is a lot darker since I started feeding her solids. But she seems to have no tummy aches or reactions to it. My day is filled with feedings. She is eating the solids plus cereal and formula for breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. I'm debating on starting her on veggies tonight or if I should just try pears or apples. hmmm. I'll decide what I'm in the mood to "cook" come dinnertime.

Father's Day Weekend.

We got to spend the entire weekend with Daddy! On Saturday, we went to MOSI for the first time with Laila and saw the Body Worlds exibit. Then we went to do a little shopping at Wiregrass. It was deathly hot out so after we decided to head back home for some quality time with the doggies. On Sunday, dada got to go play some golf with the grandpa's while mommy went to finish up a little procrastinating shopping. We went to dinner with the entire family at Carrabba's. It was a great first Father's Day for Daddy! Many many more to come!

going bananas.

We have now entered the wonderful world of solid foods. Laila has been doing so well eating her rice cereal and oatmeal that we decided to start her on her nanners. Her first reaction was quit humerous. She gave that sour puss look and proceeded to open her mouth for more. I introduce each new food every 3-4 days. I give her a fruit and cereal every day for breakfast and dinner. I am going to start her on lunch too, but it seems I am out everyday around that time. Days fly by! So next we will try some apples, pears, and prunes (to keep that digestive system going). Then onto the veggies! Sweet taters, peas and carrots! As crazy as life is...i'm having too much fun with it. Stage 1 has begun, and I know before no time twinkle toes will be in stage 2. Then eating the adult foods with us. Goodness gracious!

update: Laila is working on her crawling and sitting up by herself already. She sits in her highchair and leans forward and holds herself. I'm in the market for a shopping cart cover now. Found some cute one's online, but i'm not too excited to spend $60 on something like that. ah well, we will see. Maybe I'll make one.

tummy sleeper.

She falls asleep like this all the time now. On belly, blanket over face. I get a little paranoid, but I know she will cry if she isn't comfortable or can't breath. Last night she fell asleep on her belly with her bootie in the air. ha! Everyday is a new experience with her. I'm lovin' it!

something new.

After a couple weeks of having rice cereal, we decided to move onto Oatmeal. Laila was taking the rice cereal very well and seemed to be wanting more and more everytime. She loved the taste of something new on her spoon. Made a complete mess of course! She is a total mess by the time she is done with her meals. It makes cleanup oh so much fun for mommy. We will try this for a couple days and make sure it sits well in her tummy and there is no allergic reactions. In about a week I am going to start her on fruits. This stage of parenthood is lots of work, but so much fun! Soon I will be making gourmet meals for the entire fam. Finally I will get a chance to cook everynight and use those many cookbooks I own. Can't wait!

Oh and let me mention Bugga is starting to teeth. She has her cranky days and is constantly wanting to bite on something. Drool, drool, drool!

first slumber party.

Laila had her first overnight guests this past Friday. Kaitlyn and Landon sleptover and enjoyed spending time with their little snuggle bug.

hello, goodbye.

Bugga has got some skills. You wave to her and she is trying so hard to wave back. She lifts her arm and moves her tiny fingers. Her coordination is getting better. She reaches for anything she can grab and follows me around the room. Turns her head back and forth constantly. There is just so much for her to see now and she is loving it. She is ready to explore the world. I hope the world is ready for little Miss Laila.

Look what I woke up to.

After days now of her rolling onto her belly on the floor, she finally figured out how to roll over in her crib. She is so proud of herself!

Little Bugga did it again!

And I missed it again for the second time! I had my back turned for a quick second and bam! She was rolled over again. I turned her back over and continued to let her keep trying. I had the camera ready to snap away. She wanted to show this proud mama again and again. She rolled over about 5 times yesterday. Now this is all she wants to do. She is getting ansy being in the jumper, pack and play, and highchair. She just wants to lay on her bedroom floor and keep trying. What a little miss over achiever! Now that we got this milestone out of the way...onto the crawling.

SAHM.

pooped.

I don't think I have ever changed little one's diaper as much as I have since we have started spoon feeding her. She poops about 3 times a day now and is a farting machine. We buy boxes of diapers and they seem to just disappear in a matter of weeks. Bubs is now in size 3...she grew so fast it seemed like her bootie didn't even get a chance to fit in size 2. I am literally pooped from changing stinky exploding diapers. Oh you gotta love the "poop in the puss" (courtesy of Tori Spelling). One of the not so fun things of mommyhood. Anyone offers to changer her diaper I am all for it. Oh I'm sure she will hate me for telling everyone this.

i'm a proud mama.

I have been waiting for this for weeks now. I knew it was going to happen anyday. Laila finally rolled herself over on her belly. I would always lay her on her playmat in her room and let her play and listen to music. She seemed to almost be able to do it, but that darn shoulder and arm was always getting in the way. This morning I did the normal routine. Put little bean on her mat and got ready for the day. I heard her grunting and seemed to be getting mad. No big deal...she always screaming and trying to talk when she is playing. About 2 minutes later I went to check on her and found her on her tummy with her head up laughing and smiling. "Oh my goodness!" I screamed and think I scared poor baby g. I was so excited to see she finally did it. It didn't seem like she was able to push herself back over yet, so I picked her up and gave her a big kiss and congratulated her. Now the time has come where I have to watch her like a hawk. I get worried she will do that in her crib in the middle of the night and not be able to get herself back over. It is easier for her to grasp onto the floor because it's not as soft. This is a big stage in her life. She is beyond strong! Next is the crawling, walking, and graduating high school. Oh Lord...
