Nursery Planning.

Finally, we have accomplished something on the new nursery. It was a fun family event painting Emelia's room. We let Laila start painting, but after about 15 minutes she ran off in her room to play. It was really sweet watching her help.
We decided on purple surf, which seemed more like a lavender color. Jason originally wanted lavender for Laila's room. So with Emelia's room I thought it would be perfect expecially since I wanted to throw some whites and yellows into it. We still have lots to do. It got us really excited now that something is complete for her arrival. We now have to put Em's room on pause and find Laila some furniture for her room so we can move the crib over to the nursery. I have so many ideas on both rooms and can't wait for the finishing products. It's taking a lot longer since distractions get in the way. Here is a preview of the color and some pictures of big sissy helping out.

Hello Third Trimester!

Has 25 weeks really gone by already? I have said it before but this second pregnancy hasn't been bad at all. Little sickness in the beginning, but half the time I was so distracted by Laila that I would forget there was another little one on the way. I haven't been blogging as much this time around since life got very crazy after we found out. Plus there isn't as much to say since I have been through it all before and I know what I'm feeling and know what to expect. I was scared the first time around. I still am this time, but more so excited than anything. Things will be a little different this time knowing that I am going in for a scheduled c-section. Last time I had no idea and had the scare of my life. I am still nervous knowing that I will be awake for the birth of Emmie, but so excited I will get to actually see her the minute she comes into the world. With Laila everything happened so fast I had to be knocked out cold, and I think back and get emotional about it. Not being able to see her until I woke up from the surgery. It's all in God's hands, thats for sure.
As far as appointements go I still only have my monthly check ups right now until it get's into the weekly checks. I have gained a total of about 16 pounds as of this past Thursday. Miss Emelia JuneBug is doing fine! Heartbeat is healthy and all tests that have been taken came back negative. We had a sonogram about 3 weeks ago. This one was to find out the sex of the baby but we ended up finding out for sure before Christmas. Still a girl and she is perfect! Rhonda, the tech, said I have great fluid! Wonderful...does that mean kankles again for me near the end? ha! Let's hope not because that was by far the worst with laila. But I was just happy to hear that it sounds like we will have another healthy baby...we pray everynight. For the most part I feel great. Get very exhausted and have my backaches, but thats it. Emmie is a night owl. She kicks a lot as I'm laying down for bed. Let's hope she is a great sleeper like Laila was. I'm pretty fortunate and honestly can't complain.
I am just ready for her to get here. I am not even near prepared as far as nursery goes. I have all the plans in my head but have been so crazy with family stuff that I realized it's not a priority at the moment. Starting next month it's onto the nursery decorating and Laila's official big girl room. Let the organizing begin, because these girls are spoiled I don't even know where all the stuff that will be Emmie's room is going to go. But we will make it work. Third kid...new house ha!
I can't say enough how much of a blessing Emmie will be. We are all so excited and Laila is getting there more and more everyday. She smiles when I ask her if she is going to be a big sister. She says "Emmie", then procedes to say "M&M"...has her favorite candy on the brain when thinking about her sister.
ahhh! I can't wait!!!

Sweet 2nd Birthday!

Once again another birthday where Laila was blessed with lots of love! We had plans to spend Laila's actual birthday on the 27th with my Grandma wherever she was. Home, hospital, or hospice...we would make Laila's day special not matter what. With my Grandma passing a few days before Laila's birthday and us being in shock with how fast everything happened, we still wanted to enjoy the day and make it special. For weeks I was looking forward to my Grandma seeing Laila open her gift she got Laila. Since she didn't get to see her open it we made it special and still celebrated. It was a nice day and I know Gigi got to see the excitement on Laila's face. She loves her car! We are teaching her to pedal it, since it's kind of hard for her right now. This was a very special gift that will be in the family forever. Emelia will get to enjoy it too once Laila gets too big for it. Makes me smile!

We had a birthday bash for Laila on the 30th. It was a nice day at our house just enjoying friends and family. I did "Laila's Sweet Shop" considering how much she devours her candy. She can live on lolli's and m&m's and really anything sweet! She is her mother's daughter. I look forward to future birthdays where she is more able to understand and remember what her parties are about. I can't wait! Every year I will make it special for Laila (and Emmie too!)

{She got so shy when everyone started singing to her, but the cake was her favorite part. Forget the presents, she wanted to dig into her "happy birthday to you", which is what she calls her cake}

{Make a wish!}

{cut me a peice already!}

{So happy after her cake}

{check out the loot! and this wasn't even half of it!}
