happy 3 months.

::connecting with the camera::

::no more bobblehead::

::she copies me when I stick my tongue out::

::trying to pull herself up::

This has been the best 3 months of my life. It's gone by way too fast. She is growing like a weed. Last night Laila was pulling herself up from laying on her boppy. Her hand eye cordination is great and her head is so steady now. She drools like crazy and blows raspberries. She found her feet this past weekend too. Each day she changes. It's so true what they say, they grow up way too fast so cherish every second. Happy 3 months bubs! Before we know it we will be having a big bash for your 1 year and you will have too much fun with your smash cake. We love you bunches!

go to sleepy little laila.

We finally decided after 3 months to put Laila in her own room during the night. We have been away the past couple weekends and we feel like this was the right time to do it. Her pack and play is all put away. She sleeps through the night most of the time. I know it seemed like 3 months was even a long time to keep her in our room, but it just seemed so much easier then walking across the house. I felt so much more comfortable having her near by. I feel a little sad. I want to crawl right into her crib with her. Our super duper baby monitor is now being used for the first time. We can see her in night vision and can hear her every move. I'm sure I will wake up several times tonight to check on her. How silly am I? Sleep tight snuggle bug.

12 week check up.

No more little girl! Laila is growing up way too fast for me to handle. She is off the charts on her height and weight. Weighing a whopping 14 pounds and 8 ounces now! And we definantly have a future super model on our hands...her height is 25 3/4 tall! She is just perfect! No shots this time, but we go back again in a month. Little (or should I say big) one is going to be up and walking in no time. She is so smart and seems to be way above most newborns. God has sent us a perfect little angel!

first trip.

Back to New York we had to go for yet another wedding. We were so excited to take Laila on her first plane ride and first getaway. Not only was I packing for myself now, but I loaded up a huge diaper bag and little suitcase filled with stuff for our bubs. It's not as easy as you think. You need to pack a ton of bibs, diapers, and burp clothes. Plus a ton of outfits with the way Laila drools, it goes through the bib. I made my list of things to bring and checked off each one. Carseat...check. Stroller...check. Elli...check. Taggy blankie...check. The list went on and on. The weather was going to be cool so I packed her bundle and a ton of sweaters, jackets, and warm onesies.

As far as flighing went....on the way there the flight was nice and smooth. Didn't phase Laila one bit. She was asleep most of the flight. I made sure we gave her some tylenol and was sucking on her binky or her bottle. On the way back the weather wasn't the best, so her ears were really bothering her and she was screaming a little bit. We had to fly around a storm and it was a rough landing. Luckily everyone around us was understanding and sincere. But I tell you...I am not flying Southwest ever again. It was the first time flying it (it was a cheaper flight and we were already spending a fortune on our hotel and just being in the wedding.) It's hard traveling with an infant on an airline that's so unorganized. The seats were roomy and comfy, but I don't like the fact that your don't have an assigned seat. So I will stick to Jet Blue from now on. Oh! One good thing about traveling with a baby...you get to skip all the long lines on security (at least at TIA).

It was a quick little vaca, but we had a good time. The hotel we stayed in was supposebly haunted. It's an old mansion that was refurbed into a hotel. The owner, Mrs. Pratt killed herself in her home. The servers up at the Pub in the attic was telling us she comes around once in a while. eeek! Kind of freaked me out a little, but it was interesting.

On Saturday, we were away from Laila all day. We decided to leave her with her Aunt Marisa and my Aunt Patty. It would of been hard having her at the wedding with us being in it. We were all over the place that day. Marisa walked Laila up to the church and surprised us. A lot of my NY family got to meet her for the first time and our little snuggle bug was a hit. It was a nice day, but we missed her so much. It was the first time we were away from her longer then 5 hours. The next day we were all exhausted but decided to go to the Belmont Fair. Laila had her first funnel cake. ha! Not really, but I know she will love them just as much as her mama does.

We can't wait to show Laila the world and travel everywhere with her. This little trip was just the beginning. This weekend we are off to Port Charlotte to see some of Jason's family. yay!

happy 1st easter!

Our little Laila bunny will be celebrating her first Easter tomorrow! We won't put out carrots this year for him, but next year Laila will be sure to. ::wink wink:: Daddy and I took her to visit the Easter Bunny the other night at Citrus and she didn't cry one bit. Mr. Bunny seemed a little uncomfortable holding her so Laila was a little uncomfortable in the photo. ha! We just wanted her first Easter to be special and we will continue to have her visit the rabbit every year. We went to Gramma and Papou's today to celebrate the holiday and the bunny was very good to her (mommy and daddy too!) We will see what Mr. Bunny leaves tonight for our little bitty. Keep a look out for pictures of Lai in both of her Easter dresses.

bathtime.

In the beginning Laila didn't really like her tub time. Now she absolutely loves it! I have been giving her a bath every other night. I wash the hair that she has and clean her with the lavender J&J body wash. Then I wrap her up all cozy warm in a towel and massage the J&J sleepytime lotion on her. Let me tell you that this product works! Laila is always in a daze and out within 5 minutes. The first time I used it I held her in my arms and looked down and she was out like a light. It was hilarious! My future little swimmer...she loves the water!

tell me a story bub.

It is the cutest thing! Laila is making cooing sounds all the time now. It's like she is trying to make conversation with us. I can't help but get the biggest smile on my face. This morning I pulled out the video camera and started recording her watching the fan and making her sounds. She makes me laugh. Each day she changes. Her hair is growing a little more now and has a strawberry blonde kinda color. She has more darker hair in the back, like a little old man. I can't wait to get some bows in her hair. We got ourselves a hungry one. She takes after her daddy in that department. She is now on rice cereal for about 2 weeks now. I mix it in with the bottle twice a day. Sometimes that doesn't hold her over. I love her little chunky belly! We go to the doc again on the 22nd. I'm guessing she will be about 13 and 1/2 pounds. She is in the 97 percentile...so we will see.

ray of sunshine.
