Merry Christmas!

The holidays are fast approaching and I know it will be here and then be gone. Then onto celebrating our baby girl's first birthday. We wish you peace, joy, love, health, and prosperity this Christmas and this 2010. Warm wishes to everyone from us! It's going to be a great year...I can feel it.
After the holidays I will post all about Laila's first Christmas.

Baby it's cold outside.

Finally it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...well a Florida Christmas anyways. The weather is cool, crisp, and cloudy. Every Saturday we spend a Geraci family day together...just the three of us. We decided to go to The Shoppes at Wiregrass to enjoy the beautiful chilly weather. Laila loves being outside and having the wind blow right on her. She laughes and gets a big smile on her face. Maybe this is why she was born in the winter. We always enjoy our days together. Here are some pics of us at Wiregrass and Laila in her "winter" duds.

10 months and gobbling.

We are thankful for so much! Our little girl has been here for 10 months now. Hard to believe. I can't believe were the year has gone. She is climbing and pulling herself up on everything, and creeps her away across the couch. She is anxious to walk and I think it will happen sometime soon. She still just has those two bottom teeth. I have been singing to her "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth". She is drooling like crazy again and gets her bad crabby days, so I'm just waiting for them to pop through. I see a little white uptop...so I think they are making there way. She is saying so many words now...some are hard to understand, but she has me laughing all day with the things she says. She points to everything too. This month was a busy one, and December will just fly by. Looking forward to all the craziness. Life seems to be filled with it lately. Yea, I know a SAHM...going crazy? Sounds easy...not really! It's harder then it looks. And then the month of January...Laila's big ONE! ahhhh...I'm so excited and we have so much to look forward to. Life may be rough for all right now, but I pray and believe it will get better. You got to pray to make it today! ;)

surprise! more pictures that mommy took.

Mamarazzi.

As if i'm not in her face 24/7! These are some of my favs of our Laila bean that have been taken within a month or so. She is growing way too fast. I know people say time flies, which it does...but it's hard for me to remember my life without her. Hard to believe in about a week she will be 10 months. She is so perfect...even if she is a handful these days.

It's ALL worth it.

Even nine months after giving birth to Laila, I am still going through changes. Physically and mentally. My hormones are still going berzerk. I have lost my mind most of the time and can't seem to find it. I find myself forgetting what I was going to say. I never thought being a stay at home mom would make my mind go one hundred miles a minute. But it does! There seems to always be something to do and not enough time.

I have now noticed I have little tiny baby hairs on my head that I can't do anything with! I was trying to grow my hair long, but decided to cut it to about shoulder length to make it a little healthier. I love it but those hairs didn't help any. My stylist told me at about 6-9 months after going through labor, you get breakage to your hair. That explains it. It just happened out of no where it seemed.

I weigh less then I did even before I got pregnant. Which is a good thing, but I want my muscle to come back. When I get the time I go jogging with Laila (thank goodness we are getting cool weather now), some yoga, and tae bo. I am also building back some muscle from picking up my 22 pounder and dancing around the house like a maniac to make her laugh. I love it!

I guess I didn't do enough kegal exercises while pregnant. My bladder seems to be so weak. I have to pee every hour. And I didn't even push Laila out! And another thing my incision is still itchy! It's healing nicely though. It's c-sections for me for the next 3 babes! :)

Sometimes I think I am crazy for wanting to be pregnant again. But I am ready for another...maybe not physically, but mentally. But we shall wait and maybe start trying again near the end of 2010. Let me try to get back to my normal self before we try for the second. Babies...they are SO worth it!

I can't believe it! We are starting the planning of our little bean's birthday bash! Yes, we picked her mama's birthday...little princess took over and it's no more about me! hehe! I know she will never remember this day, but turning one is a big deal. We can't wait to watch Laila smash her face with cake and celebrate the big ONE! Hugs & Drools, The Geraci Fam!

Our October.

This month has been a busy one. With all the Halloween festivities it seemed as though it was never going to end. We are still waiting on the cold weather to arrive. But besides it being not so cool for fall we had a great month and loved having our baby girl here with us this year. It makes the holidays all the more fun! I look forward to starting our own family traditions with Laila.

Clean bill of health.

I took Laila to her 9 month check up today. We couldn't of asked for a healthier baby. She weighed in at 21 lbs. 10 oz. and 30 1/2 inches long. Still practically off the charts and in the 97 percentile. Poor bubs had two shots today, the hepitis and flu shot. She also had her little toe pricked to check her iron level. She did not like that too much. That is the worst, hearing her scream from pain. The doctor gave her a clean bill of health once again. Laila is doing everything and more from what babies normally do at this age. She is eating most everything she is aloud to. We go back when Laila turns a year! That's three months away! I can't believe it. She has been with us for the same amount of time I carried her. It's so amazing!

a talker and a dancer.

Laila's vocabulary consists of a good five words. Daddy, mama, baba, baby, and Laila. She also makes little noises like "goa, goa, goa", pats her lips together to make a popping sound, and screams when she gets excited. I am still trying to figure out some words she is trying to say. She talks all day long. You can't keep her quiet. She will look at me and say something and i have no idea what she just said, but it cracks me up. I wouldn't be surprised if she says "no" to me one day. I am telling her no about a hundred times a day now that she is crawling all over the house. She wants to get into everything! But mostly the stuff that's not hers. I say "No No Laila", she turns around and gives me a look then laughs. What a little ham! She is about to stand on her own. She lifts one leg up and sits on it, then bounce up and down. I can turn on music and she goes crazy! She expecially loves the hot dog dance and special agent oso's three special steps. She is too stinkin' cute!!!

8 months young!

::peek-a-boo::
(notice the scratches & marks on her face...poor bean!)
Bumps and bruises, seperation anxiety, standing and deliver, claps hands, stands while holding on, jabbers a couple of words, eating chunky foods, high fives, waves, gives kisses, crawls everywhere, grabs everything, little colds, entertaining herself, shows off her shiny pearly whites, brushes her teeth....oh the many things LG has accomplished, and that's not even all of it. These last eight months have been nothing but pure joy. I thank God everyday for our healthy, beautiful baby girl.

Crawling 101.

It's official...we have a crawler on our hands! I knew it was coming anyday now. Laila would move a couple feet or so, but this time while we were away she crawled that body of hers all the way across our hotel living room suite. She wanted daddy's phone so bad, she knew the only way to get to it was to crawl herself over. Now we can't stop her. She's wearing those knees down and loving every minute of it. Most of the house is baby proofed. She is grabbing everything in site. I will walk away for one minute and turn around and wha la! Miss Laila appears! She will be 8 months in a week. She is talking, crawling, rolling, clapping, waving, eating yummy foods, copying everything you do, sings along with the disney channel shows. It's amazing. Grandma just bought he some Baby Einstein flashcards today...can't wait to use them!

we got a walker...almost.

We bought Laila a walker and she absolutely loves it! Just another addition to the many toys around the house. She is already going from one side of the room to the other and following me wherever I go. Once she finally grasps the concept and it sinks in that she is pretty much free to roam the house, i'm in trouble. No more privacy for mommy.

just because...

...this makes me smile...she is so darn cute...and i love seeing those two teeth!

yum, yum...cheerios!

She loves 'em! Laila feeds them to herself (or the dogs) and they will get stuck to her slimey, wet fingers. What a big girl we have! She is learning the concept of chewing. I have started her on the graduate puffs too...and she can't get enough of those. She had some fresh chicken stew made by gramma, some of her aunt's potato salad (minus the mayo and onion), scrambled eggs when daddy took us to breakfast and my mom let her suck pickle juice the other day. Being a first time mom, I was nervous about the chunks and her choking...but now it's just so exciting seeing her be introduced to new things. It makes going out to restaurants a lot more fun! Holidays are coming...turkey legs, baked ham, the works! yum! Eat up buttercup!

cheer-i-nose!

Here's a tip.

A tip for all you prego soon to be moms and maybe the newbie mom's like me. Buy clothes as your baby grows! About once a month I go through Laila's clothes and clean out her drawers and her super organized closet since she is growing like a weed. I so far (keep in mind she is only 7 months) have two big tubs full of outgrown clothes, hats, and shoes. Her growth has slowed down the past month and I think now we are sticking to buying 12-18 or 18-24 month clothes. No less! She can fit into some of her 6-12 month, but they are getting a little snug. Can you believe it...our 7 month is already fitting into toddler clothes. Depending on the type of clothes. Carter's onesies are a godsend...and she is still fitting into the 9 month of those. I try to keep all Laila's clothes organized to size, so I won't forget to put her in something. This is why my tip is to buy as your little one grows...I am trying to get Laila's "winter" clothes together (yea I know what your thinking...winter clothes in Florida? but that little...or shall I say big body of her's needs to stay warm). I just added eight sweaters that Laila either wore once, or didn't wear at all, into her tub! Adorable ones from BabyGap and Old Navy! Breaks my heart! Maybe I can try fitting her into some of them once it gets cool...sweaters normally run big right? Oh! and not to mention I threw about six pairs of size 2 shoes in with it that she barely wore. She is now in size 3 and has such a high instep, so it's hard to find her shoes. This bring me to the conclusion that I need to start bargain shopping or buying bigger sizes. You can not get me out of BabyGap, Janie and Jack, or Old Navy...i'm dangerous! How can you pass up those adorable clothes you see on the racks? This is what happens when God gave me a girl. Let's just hope we will have another girl sometime with wanting more kids, so I get good use of all of Laila's beautiful clothes again. My little girl has to be stylin! And it doesn't help that I am a shopaholic and can't help but buying her more and more clothes! It used to be all about going crazy and buying outfits for me, now it's all about my little girl. yea...I know her mommy spoils her. But hey...i'm aloud to aren't I?
