a talker and a dancer.

Laila's vocabulary consists of a good five words. Daddy, mama, baba, baby, and Laila. She also makes little noises like "goa, goa, goa", pats her lips together to make a popping sound, and screams when she gets excited. I am still trying to figure out some words she is trying to say. She talks all day long. You can't keep her quiet. She will look at me and say something and i have no idea what she just said, but it cracks me up. I wouldn't be surprised if she says "no" to me one day. I am telling her no about a hundred times a day now that she is crawling all over the house. She wants to get into everything! But mostly the stuff that's not hers. I say "No No Laila", she turns around and gives me a look then laughs. What a little ham! She is about to stand on her own. She lifts one leg up and sits on it, then bounce up and down. I can turn on music and she goes crazy! She expecially loves the hot dog dance and special agent oso's three special steps. She is too stinkin' cute!!!

8 months young!

::peek-a-boo::
(notice the scratches & marks on her face...poor bean!)
Bumps and bruises, seperation anxiety, standing and deliver, claps hands, stands while holding on, jabbers a couple of words, eating chunky foods, high fives, waves, gives kisses, crawls everywhere, grabs everything, little colds, entertaining herself, shows off her shiny pearly whites, brushes her teeth....oh the many things LG has accomplished, and that's not even all of it. These last eight months have been nothing but pure joy. I thank God everyday for our healthy, beautiful baby girl.

Crawling 101.

It's official...we have a crawler on our hands! I knew it was coming anyday now. Laila would move a couple feet or so, but this time while we were away she crawled that body of hers all the way across our hotel living room suite. She wanted daddy's phone so bad, she knew the only way to get to it was to crawl herself over. Now we can't stop her. She's wearing those knees down and loving every minute of it. Most of the house is baby proofed. She is grabbing everything in site. I will walk away for one minute and turn around and wha la! Miss Laila appears! She will be 8 months in a week. She is talking, crawling, rolling, clapping, waving, eating yummy foods, copying everything you do, sings along with the disney channel shows. It's amazing. Grandma just bought he some Baby Einstein flashcards today...can't wait to use them!

we got a walker...almost.

We bought Laila a walker and she absolutely loves it! Just another addition to the many toys around the house. She is already going from one side of the room to the other and following me wherever I go. Once she finally grasps the concept and it sinks in that she is pretty much free to roam the house, i'm in trouble. No more privacy for mommy.

yum, yum...cheerios!

She loves 'em! Laila feeds them to herself (or the dogs) and they will get stuck to her slimey, wet fingers. What a big girl we have! She is learning the concept of chewing. I have started her on the graduate puffs too...and she can't get enough of those. She had some fresh chicken stew made by gramma, some of her aunt's potato salad (minus the mayo and onion), scrambled eggs when daddy took us to breakfast and my mom let her suck pickle juice the other day. Being a first time mom, I was nervous about the chunks and her choking...but now it's just so exciting seeing her be introduced to new things. It makes going out to restaurants a lot more fun! Holidays are coming...turkey legs, baked ham, the works! yum! Eat up buttercup!

Here's a tip.

A tip for all you prego soon to be moms and maybe the newbie mom's like me. Buy clothes as your baby grows! About once a month I go through Laila's clothes and clean out her drawers and her super organized closet since she is growing like a weed. I so far (keep in mind she is only 7 months) have two big tubs full of outgrown clothes, hats, and shoes. Her growth has slowed down the past month and I think now we are sticking to buying 12-18 or 18-24 month clothes. No less! She can fit into some of her 6-12 month, but they are getting a little snug. Can you believe it...our 7 month is already fitting into toddler clothes. Depending on the type of clothes. Carter's onesies are a godsend...and she is still fitting into the 9 month of those. I try to keep all Laila's clothes organized to size, so I won't forget to put her in something. This is why my tip is to buy as your little one grows...I am trying to get Laila's "winter" clothes together (yea I know what your thinking...winter clothes in Florida? but that little...or shall I say big body of her's needs to stay warm). I just added eight sweaters that Laila either wore once, or didn't wear at all, into her tub! Adorable ones from BabyGap and Old Navy! Breaks my heart! Maybe I can try fitting her into some of them once it gets cool...sweaters normally run big right? Oh! and not to mention I threw about six pairs of size 2 shoes in with it that she barely wore. She is now in size 3 and has such a high instep, so it's hard to find her shoes. This bring me to the conclusion that I need to start bargain shopping or buying bigger sizes. You can not get me out of BabyGap, Janie and Jack, or Old Navy...i'm dangerous! How can you pass up those adorable clothes you see on the racks? This is what happens when God gave me a girl. Let's just hope we will have another girl sometime with wanting more kids, so I get good use of all of Laila's beautiful clothes again. My little girl has to be stylin! And it doesn't help that I am a shopaholic and can't help but buying her more and more clothes! It used to be all about going crazy and buying outfits for me, now it's all about my little girl. yea...I know her mommy spoils her. But hey...i'm aloud to aren't I?

Goodbye August!

This month has flown by! We spent the last weekend in August enjoying the sun and remembering how great God is! On Saturday we met up with The George's at Honeymoon Island. It was extremely hot, but Laila got to get her feet wet and enjoy the sand with her buddy Aiden. It was her first beach experience and we had a blast! I can't believe how fast summer went and we are soon coming into fall. I'm hoping to get some more beachtime in before it gets any cooler. Then we will be able to enjoy the fall weather outside going to the zoo, the park, busch gardens (we need to use our passes again!), and the pier. The wonderful Florida humidity kills ya! and on Sunday, we celebrated Lianna's Baptism. Such a joyous day! I'll miss summer...but looking forward to opening the back door and windows to let in some fresh fall air.

First Tooth!

Baby Girl's got her first tooth! I popped on through overnight. She has been exceptionally cranky this past week. I have been rubbing some cream on her gums 100 times a day, and this morning I felt something sharp. whooo hooo! I saw a pearly white! I can see the other one breaking on through. How exciting! We better start saving up for braces...because i'm sure she is going to need them.

almost 7 months.

One more week and Laila will be another month old! She has changed the most this past month. She is extremely talkative. She seems to babble about dada all day while he is at work and now started a new thing...roaring like a dinosaur. What a hoot! She claps her hand, raises her arms, slightly waves, and bangs her hand on her thighs like she is playing the drums. She sat herself up in her crib yesterday and is trying so hard to move more then a couple inches to crawl. She holds her whole body up, but is still trying to figure out how to get further. I have been getting lots with our video camera. I forgot for a couple months to take any video, and now that there are so many new adventures everyday, I sit there just recording her every move or noise! I love it!
Looks like any day now teeth will be breaking through. I see white and feel hard lumps on her gums. Of course she is drooling up a river and cranky as can be. She loves when I rub some little teethers on her gums and sit there with my finger in her mouth. What an appetite she has too! She's eating everything she is aloud to eat. In about a month i'll start her on some of our food...cheerios! yum!

smile baby girl!

This past month has flown by. We had her 6 month shoot a couple weeks back. We always have such a blast with Jaimee. Laila had 3 wardrobe changes and many different locations to pose at. We look forward to our Christmas and Birthday photoshoot with her. Just a couple pics from our day with her. Didn't get as many smiles out of Laila. But I do believe little miss poshface is just practicing modeling for the camera. We love love love them!!!

inchworm.

I think we almost got a crawler on our hands. Laila is in the sit-up position than leans forward and puts herself on her tummy. She bends her back legs and pushes herself up, and is trying to inch forward. She gets aggravated and starts whining..."mmmm...mmmm", and kicks her legs out like she is trying to swim full frog mode. Too funny! Bring it on little one!

babble baby.

Words are flowing out of Laila's mouth. Of course it's just the normal "mama", "dada". But she is saying it all the time. She even said "daddy" the other day. I always talk with her and tell her what she is eating and playing with. She turns her head now when I say her name and she knows which dog is which. I'm going to get some baby flashcards soon. I know were she gets her talkativeness from, her daddy! Keep on babbling baby girl!

nursery additions.

A mother's job is never done. Expecially being a SAHM. I am constantly thinking of new things to do. It has taken me forever to get Laila's nursery complete, and I am still working on it. I'm in the market for a mirror and something for above the crib. But after many months of waiting for baby girl's blankie and shelves they are finally complete! Here is a peak of some of the new additions to Laila's room. Keep a look out for many other projects in the making!

bye bye travel system.

Laila graduated to the big girl carseat today! I have been putting it off for weeks now, but finally decided to give it a whirl. Her travel system carseat goes up to 22 lbs. She still had a couple more pounds to go, but I felt like poor bubs was constantly sweating and not comfortable. Plus, It was a lot of work getting her in and out. Lugging around her close to 19 pound self, plus the weight of the carseat equals a full body work out. I will miss the convenience of it, but she loves her Britax! Laila long legs better not grow anymore though, her feet are already touching the back of the seat. Ok baby girl, time to slow down growing. It's happening all too fast.
